The latest version of this program is version 3.8.4 which was released on October 12, 2008.Welcome to the tutorial for the program called 'FTD'! FTD is a program that serves a Dutch Usenet community. Although it is a Dutch program we see more and more English folks using FTD.
With this tutorial we hope to make the FTD experience available to everyone who does not understand Dutch! With this program people let each other know what they will post to Usenet and when/where they will do so.
It is also possible to submit interesting items that you have discovered which are being posted by someone else, the so called 'spots'.
The features of the program make it possible to:
- have easy interactive communication about a post with the poster and other people downloading the same post;
- request fills for missing or damaged files;
- request a repost in case you just missed it.
The program originally intended to create an easy way to ask for fills, but it has grown and now has many more features. Nowadays it is a place where you can find a very large index of Usenet posts. It has become a community on its own...
This tutorial will describe every aspect of the FTD program, including viewing posts, saving them in your watchlist, adding your own posts and managing them in 'MyFTD'.

We will not waste any time explaining how to install the program since it is pretty straightforward, even for people who cannot understand Dutch. You will have to choose an install directory and click a couple of times on 'volgende' (next).
Remember this: Binaries4all is not the same as FTD.
